Abstract

Subject tomb of Adam is reflected four theories in Islamic texts: Mecca, Najaf, India and Jerusalem. The first two places recorded in the Shia tradition, while Mecca, India and Jerusalem are reported on the Sunni hadith sources. Accepting one of the four approaches entails denying the validity of other theories. These records both Shiite and Sunni have integral disagreements and external disagreements with each other in determining the tomb of Adam (AS). Why such a conflict was happened in the Islamic texts and what is the solution for fix it? This matter is the main issue of this research. My hypothesis is the possibility for accommodation among the texts and the conflicts among them.
